Just a friendly reminder: Manufactured urgency doesn’t serve the folks we’re designing with and for—and it doesn’t serve us as individuals.
If we don’t slow down, it’s difficult to effectively apply our values to our work.
On top of that, it can lead us to disconnect from why we do what we do. From what has informed our values.
When we lose sight of our WHY, we can feel untethered in our work. And I believe there can be very real mental, physical, and spiritual ramifications when we’re disconnected in that way.
And when we don’t slow down, we simply can’t hold space to appreciate these experiences we’ve had, and continue to have, that enable us to grow.
Yes, there is real urgency in much of our work that needs to be addressed.
But manufactured urgency is just a distraction from what truly matters.
